I would say the main similarity is that we are both writing sports articles and have the basis of writing to athletes and sports lovers.One way Sports Illustrated markets their magazine is through their subscription process. They give benefits including sales and deals when subscribing or signing up for their magazine. This then leads people to purchase a subscription which then leads to distribution of their product. To do this they use print/digital media. I found the offers off of their website when looked at the process of getting the magazine issues.

For my magazine, I would choose to use the offers if a reader wanted a subscription because it is pulling the reader in to get more issues of the magazine and also might persuade them to tell their peers about the deals we have when sign up for a membership/subscription.
