The Athletic also promotes their subscription through deals on their website. When you look up their subscription the first thing that pops up online is a ad for 40% a subscription to their magazine. They use a method on online advertising to get their readers to buy a subscription. Since this is a similar form to that of Sports Illustrated I would definitely use this method because it is fair to your loyal readers that want a subscription to your magazine, especially when the deals are being spread around and readers hear about it from different sources.

When visiting the website of Women's Running magazine, you can find 4 icons at the bottom of their page leading you to their social media. Showing this is a way to market their product because of the social media pages, such as instagram, twitter and snapchat, they can better reach a wide variety of audiences that would see that form easier than a paper magazine, thus creating higher distribution of their product. With Sota Sports, I would create social media pages to draw in the younger crowd because, since I am one of them I know that they would be more likely to see the marketing plans through their phones than through a paper copy.

I would say the main similarity is that we are both writing sports articles and have the basis of writing to athletes and sports lovers. One way Sports Illustrated markets their magazine is through their subscription process. They give benefits including sales and deals when subscribing or signing up for their magazine. This then leads people to purchase a subscription which then leads to distribution of their product. To do this they use print/digital media. I found the offers off of their website when looked at the process of getting the magazine issues. For my magazine, I would choose to use the offers if a reader wanted a subscription because it is pulling the reader in to get more issues of the magazine and also might persuade them to tell their peers about the deals we have when sign up for a membership/subscription.

Revision 3- article pages

For my revisions of the article pages the top is what I changed it to and the bottom pictures are what they were before I got feedback on what to fix to make my magazine better. First off, I changed the background color of the pages because it is simply and when printing the magazine it will cost less. Secondly, I used Photoshop for the first time to lighten my pictures I did this because it was hard to see the athletes faces. I did this so that they would be clear and more visible. Also, I changed the arrangement of the photos so that I had one large photo on the beginning page of my article. Lastly, I added page numbers to all pages and I did this because I didn't have any before. 

distribution plan

For my distribution plan I will be going to a sporting event where they have a lot of fans going to the game so I can promote my magazine and get more subscribers. For example, I would set up at the Women's National soccer game and set up a table to sell the magazine issue about women soccer. This would attract the audience I am looking to sell to. Another option I will be utilizing is a website for my magazine. This will help people who cant get the magazine and just want to check out if the magazine is worth their money. On this website they can find small articles, game times, and scores of games. This will make it convenient and intrigue the customer in our company.

digital distribution- Hockey pdf magazine

The PDF magazine is a way for small magazines to distribute their magazines. They can be found on the magazine website as a link or hyperlink. This is the whole magazine but instead of paper you can just download it on your phone or computer. The magazine I found is called Hockey but there are many other sports magazines that can be found as a PDF. I will incorporate this into my digital distribution method by creating a link on my website so that people can download the issue for the week on their mobile device or computer. This will make it easier for some reader to get the newest issue.

A way that most magazines digitally distribute their product is by having a website for their magazine. This is popular because it gives an easy access and it creates more website visits. Having people search for ESPN.com for example is showing they are interested but cant get the physical magazine. Also, the website is more frequently updated on information instead of waiting the the magazine issue. I will incorporate this into my product by making a SotaSports.com website so people can visit it and get the latest news and see when the new edition of the magazine will be out. This will bring us more readers to read our magazines.
